Johnson City, Tenn. — Former Windsor track star Darby Emerson made the finals at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ national indoor track and field meet Saturday at Eastern Tennessee University.

Emerson, a freshman at Houghton college in New York, qualified for the finals of the women’s 800-meter race with a time of 2 minutes, 17.10 seconds. Emerson finished eighth in the finals with a time of 2:18.20.

Emerson was part of the 1,600 relay team that ran a 4:05.02 in the qualifying round, but failed to reach the finals. Emerson is majoring in biology as part of Houghton’s pre-med program.
