The Windsor Community Foundation and The Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County have processed $163,000 for tornado victims in Windsor and Weld County.
"These funds are helping close the financial gap for such things as insurance deductibles, grocery cards, rent assistance and auto repairs," a press release from the foundation said. "Together, through the generous contributions of individuals, business partners, and community organizations, the combined foundations have received over $310,000 in donations to date."
The foundations will continue accepting applications from individuals, businesses and organizations who suffered damage from the May 22 tornado through 5 p.m. July 1.
Applications can be downloaded at www.cfsgwc.org and are also available at the any Bank of Colorado branch in Weld or Larimer Counties, any First National Bank in Weld County and at Windsor Now, 423, Main Street, Windsor.
The Windsor Community Foundation is a component of the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County. Tax-deductible donations for tornado relief efforts for either of these funds can be sent to the Community Foundation, 711 8th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80631. Checks should be made payable to the Community Foundation, noting either Windsor tornado relief or Weld tornado relief on the memo line.
