David "Pete" Cruz

Tribute: David Mathew "Pete" Cruz was born in Rawlins, Wyo., to Leo and Maria (Alcon) Cruz.

He graduated from Windsor High School in 1978. In 1980 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Mr Cruz worked as the custodian at Windsor Middle School.

Mr. Cruz was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. He enjoyed softball, fishing, music, football, watching the Denver Broncos and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestling, and spending time with his family who knew him as "Uncle Pete."



Mr. Cruz died Thursday in his home in Windsor.

Survivors: His parents; three brothers, John Cruz and Lynn Cruz of Windsor and Paul Cruz of Hanna, Wyo.; sister, Gloria Diaz, of Windsor; three nephews, eight nieces; and two great nephews.

Preceded in death by: His brother, Christopher.

Memorial services: Were held Tuesday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, in Windsor.
