UPDATE: Interstate 25 north of Wellington reopens

With the mid-afternoon Friday reopening of Interstate 25 from Wellington to Wyoming, all major highways are now open across the state.

A winter storm advisory remains in effect for southern Wyoming and the northern Colorado mountains, but all other advisories and warnings for Colorado have been canceled.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, Interstate 76, U.S. 34 and 36 and I-70 are all now open, along with I-25. At various times early Friday, those roads and interstates were closed because of blowing snow and icy driving conditions.

The latest local snow totals by the National Weather Service from around the immediate region include 16 inches at Windsor, 8-16 inches around Greeley, Keeensburg, Johnstown and Milliken 15 inches, Fort Collins 10-23 inches, La Salle 10 inches, New Raymer 6 inches and Eaton 5.5 inches.

Greeley-Evans School District 6 and Johnstown-Milliken Re-5J schools are open today, but most other schools in Weld remain closed.

Today is forecast to be partly sunny, with a high near 43 in Greeley and around Weld with a low tonight in the mid 20s. Saturday should be sunny with highs in the mid 40s and a low in the mid 20s, while Sunday is expected to warm into the 50s.
