Windsor dominated Frederick 19-0 in the Class 3A state football semifinals today in Windsor. The win puts the Wizards in next week's state title game.
Also on Saturday, Greeley's Dayspring Christian Academy topped Hoehne 29-22 in the Class 1A 8-man state finals in Greeley.
In the 3A game, the Wizards scored all of the game's points in the second half. Windsor broke the scoreless deadlock with a 73-yard touchdown pass from Joe Sanger to Aaron Schmidt with 8 minutes, 39 seconds left in the third quarter.
Jordan Porterfield's 81-yard touchdown run with 3:06 left in the third gave the Wizards a 13-0 advantage.
Schmidt capped the win with an 11-yard touchdown run with 2:11 left in the game.
The Frederick Warriors didn't record their initial first down until early in the second quarter.
Windsor held Frederick to just 123 total yards of offense and just three first downs; with 42 yards coming on one run in the second quarter.
In 8-man, the Eagles overcame a 22-7 deficit. Dayspring stopped Hoehne just shy of the end zone for what could have been the tying touchdown in the fourth quarter.
