Station 3 to save time responding, per the front page of the paper. What a bunch of crap. Just start watching the type of calls the fire department responds to. Not fires. Mostly EMS support or vehicle evacuations after a wreck. So is that gigantic building Station 3 really worth the expense to us? Now there are people sitting there just waiting for something to do.
The fire department responses are usually included in the paper, just look at them. I dont have to say another word. It would be interesting if the papers obtained the Normal Servicing Area for Station 3 and publish them in a way we can see just how many calls they report to.
Do not include I-25, thats not in our fire district, but to justify the station the department may be part of a group supporting that area. But, its not ours and if we do respond the call is using our fuel, equipment and manpower.
