Traffic is running smoothly through Greeley and Weld County with only a few reported mishaps.

Weld County dispatch is reporting five accidents in Weld County since midnight, including three rollovers this morning on U.S. 85.

Cmdr. Margie Martinez, spokeswoman for the Weld County Sheriff’s Department, said roads are mainly icy and slippery, with U.S. 85 so far being the main trouble spot with one rollover north of Greeley at Weld County Road 70, and two in the Gilcrest area at Weld roads 38 and 44. They were not serious in terms of injuries.

In Greeley, roads are mainly wet, Sgt. Joe Tymkowych of the Greeley Police Department.

The Colorado Department of Transportation is reporting all roads and highways in northern Colorado are icy and snowpacked but remain open so far today. All major highways in this region -- Interstate 25, U.S. 85, U.S. 34, Colo. 14 and Colo. 392 — are icy and snowpacked, although some are becoming slushy and not snowpacked, ccording to CDOT.

Interstate 70 east and west from Limon are closed and chain laws are in effect for I-70 in the mountains.
