It will be a cold and snowy day across the plains, with heavy snow possible throughout the day and even through early Saturday morning. Greeley will see highs in the 20s today, with 6 to 12 inches of snow possible when all is said and done. Some portions of the eastern plains will see closer to 2 feet of snow by Saturday morning.
The snow will mix with gusty winds, creating blizzard conditions across the plains through Friday. A number of winter weather alerts are in effect for all of eastern Colorado.
The storm will slowly start to move out by Saturday morning, bringing more clearing skies during the afternoon. Temperatures will stay cold through the weekend, though, with low 30s on Saturday and mid-30s on Sunday.
