BOYS HOOPS
Greeley The Dayspring and Longmont Christian boys played a game for the ages. For the old, pre-shot-clock ages. Whether it was missed layups or conservative offense, these teams couldnt muster much offense. They eventually went to overtime to settle their differences, with Longmont Christian prevailing, 32-31.
With 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Tate Mesbergen hit a 3-pointer to tie the game. Longmont Christian wasnt able to put in the go-ahead score, so the teams went to overtime. The Eagles were up one with seven seconds left. With two fouls to give, they fouled once, but didnt execute on the second foul before Longmont Christian was able to hit a layup while getting fouled.
Longmont Christian missed the free throw, but Dayspring couldnt convert the last second heave.
Dayspring (3-14, 2-4 in 2A Mile High League) hosts Nederland on Monday, and Heritage on Tuesday to wrap up its season.

Valley 67, Berthoud 39: In Berthoud, the Valley Vikings are still exacting revenge for what they describe as a dissapointing loss to Highland on Saturday. Brush took the brunt of the backlash, as Valley held that team to just 32 points Tuesday.
With Berthoud only scoring 39 tonight, its easy to see why the Vikings considered the Highland game a necessary wake-up call.
Thursday, Valley took advantage of its size and had a field day in the paint. Junior Cedric Collinge had 19 points and 15 rebounds, as the Vikings shot 54 percent from inside the arc.
Valley (18-1, 9-1 in 3A Patriot League) hosts Weld Central on Tuesday.
