Albert W. Helzer Jr.

Albert W. Helzer Jr. was called home to be with the Lord on Feb. 2, 2012.

He was born June 26, 1929, to Albert W. Helzer Sr. and Lydia (Socolofsky) Helzer in Loveland.

Al served in the Air Force from 1950-1954. He then attended Colorado A&M College. He married Mary Rae Higinbotham and together they had three children: Mike, Jim and Janet.

He was employed by Forney Industries from 1955 to 1964. He then went into a life of farming and work in the agricultural industry.

Al married Dorothy Beyer in November 1980. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2007. He later moved to his son’s ranch in Windsor where he completed a very healthy, happy and complete life.

He is survived by his children, Mike Helzer of Three Forks, Mont., Jim (Sandy) Helzer of Windsor and Janet (Gary) Farkas of Loveland; brother, Delbert (Annelda) Helzer; and sister, Donna Yelek; grandchildren, Joshua Horak, Shaylin Frazier, Bryan Helzer, Kevin Helzer, Ryan Hanon Helzer and Garrett Helzer. He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Dorothy.

A private family service is planned.
