GIRLS HOOPS
Brigsdale The Falcons (7-2 North Central, 13-3 overall) used a big second quarter and a stifling press to dismiss non-conference opponent Heritage Christian Saturday afternoon.
After a tough loss to Pawnee Thursday night, Briggsdale responded defensively as the were able to create easy scoring chances from their ball pressure in their press to help create seperation.
We were able to settle into our press and cause several turnovers, Falcons head coach Bob Williams said. That provided us with easy baskets to really get into the flow.
BHS sophomore guard Shleby Jeffrys got going in the second quarter from behind the 3-point line as she knocked down both of Briggsdales 3-pointers for the game during the quarter. Senior center Bethy Shaw scored a team-high 12 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Falcons.

Spartans coach Colin Shaha said he was pleased to see the growth King displayed on the biggest stage.
The times that she swam is really secondary to her preperation, Shaha said. Weve talked about her improving on stretching to the walls and today was the first time Ive seen her do that. Her ability to make adjustments at the competition level was just really great to see.
Shaha added that he was proud of his whole team for the character they showed over the weekend as all of Kings teammates came back Saturday to support her. The positivity entrenched in his team and the talent returning has Shaha excited to see what the 2012-2013 season will bring.
I thik were building in the absolute right direction and Im excited for our future.
