Colo. 392 will get a little smoother this year.
The Windsor Town Board approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation Monday that would resurface the highway between I-25 and 15th Street in Windsor — a three-and-a-half-mile stretch.
After hearing about the project, the town also budgeted $350,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund to add to the Colorado Department of Transportation's $8 million budget to extend the improvements a mile east to 7th Street. The town had planned on improving parts of that stretch of road over the course of two years, but jumped on the project after hearing of CDOT's plans.
“We know that road is in need of resurfacing,” said Engineering Director Dennis Wagner.
Wagner also said the project had not been bid yet, but that improvements may begin by this spring. Once completed, they may last for the next 20 years.
