Red Hatters, heads up: Our annual luncheon and fashion show will be at 11 a.m. May 22 here at the Evans Community Complex. Fashions from DressBarn in Greeley. The cost for the luncheon is $7.50, and we invite you to bring a friend. If you are not a member of our Red Hat Club, we hope you will consider joining us for this event to meet other Red Hatters from this area. If you would like to just celebrate Mother's Day, you are also welcome. You will need to register and pay for the event by May 20 at the recreation desk. Questions? Call (970) 475-1131.
The senior center will be closed May 26 to observe Memorial Day. We encourage all of you to attend services in remembrance of all who fought and died defending this country, past and present, showing your support for our troops.
If you have always wanted to see Canada by rail, we invite you to join us for our 11-day event Oct. 1-11 into beautiful western Canada. With prices on the rise for fuel, costs will never be lower than they are today. We will fly in and out of Vancouver, B.C. The trip will be largely by train; however, Canadian trains don't travel at night, so you will see all that Canada has to offer. Some of the highlights will include the Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains; Shannon Falls, Mount Garibaldi and Cheakamus Canyon; the mighty Frasier River as it traverses the lush farmland of the Pemberton Valley, as well as Frasier Canyon; Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and Yellowhead Pass; the majestic Lake Louise, where we will stay at the incredible Chateau Lake Louise; the Athabasca Glacier and Falls; the Spiral Tunnels and Emerald Lake; Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass and Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven; and you will even have some time to shop and browse around in these beautiful Canadian towns and villages. If you would like more information, please give us a call at (970) 475-1131. We will provide you with the entire lowdown. In the meantime, we are busy planning a day when you can come and enjoy a video on all of these beautiful sites to help you decide. Keep watching for more info. Your trip costs are based upon double occupancy and include all transportation, transfers, lodging, airfare and some meals.
Our thought for this week: "Failure is only postponed success as long as courage 'coaches' ambition. The habit of persistence is the habit of victory." -- Herbert Kaufman
