The ceremonial town hall groundbreaking at 11 a.m. ignites the beginning of a new 17,000-square-foot town hall south of the police station on South Parish Avenue.
Diana Seele, town clerk, said the event, open to the public, will include the contractor, architect and town council.
Construction on the $4.6 million facility will begin May 19 and is expected to be completed by January 2009. The city-funded building will provide much needed meeting space and offices, according to Roy Lauricello, town administrator.
