Pelican Lakes and High Hops team up for new brew
This week High Hops Brewery began the process of brewing a specialty beer created specifically for the new restaurant opening up at Pelican Lakes Golf and Country Club located in the Water Valley subdivision.
The beer will be called Pelican Lakes Lager and be available only at the newly remodeled restaurant and bar at Pelican Lakes Golf and Country Club, 1620 Pelican Lakes Point. The beer was brewed to have a crisp taste and resemble a typical domestic light beer.
“We’re shooting for the perfect golf beer,” said Zach Weakland , a 2005 Windsor High School graduate and the head brewer at High Hops, 6461 Colo. 392. “It’s going to be a nice and refreshing beer you can drink on a warm, sunny day and not get too full off of it.”
Weakland said the process of brewing this particular batch of beer will take around two months.
The restaurant has been closed since Jan. 6 when Austin’s Homestead Grill at Pelican Lakes ceased its operations after eight years of providing high-quality food and service to its customers.
A tentative reopen date is scheduled for mid-March.
