There was a lot of cheering from a group of Windsor cheerleaders after they found out the results from a recent competition.
The Windsor Recreation Competition Cheerleading Team won first place in the Youth Recreation Division at JamFest on Jan. 26 at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield.
The team of 14 girls — Elyssa Bauerle, Mackenzie Sheldon, Amber Shawver, Brittany Bastemeyer, Kiley Moore, Baylie Weis, Jenaya Garren, McKenna Scheid, Sedona Pearson, Chloe Scarborough, Kailey Dahlgren, Alex Smith, Ellianah Saenz and Stephanie Wilkins — brought home the first-place trophy. Head coach Kelly Moore and assistant coach Leigh Ann Colter directed the girls to their successful results.
According to a news release from the Town of Windsor, all teams in the Windsor Youth Recreation Cheer program are coached by Moore through the Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture Department.
The program was established as an affordable program providing all kids ages 5 to 14 the opportunity to support and cheer for Town of Windsor recreational events, as well as local school and university events.
Participants learn new skills while building leadership and good sportsmanship skills.
