8th-grade tryouts for high school summer baseball are today

The Windsor Parks, Recreation and Culture Department will hold a tryout today for eighth-graders interested in playing high school summer baseball.

This is a competitive baseball league that is an extension of the Windsor High School baseball program. Teams play 25 to 35 regular season games in addition to tournaments.

Tryouts will be held at 1 p.m. at the Windsor High School Varsity Baseball Field. If there is bad weather or for those unable to attend the tryout today, an alternative date is set for 2 p.m. March 2.

All players must try out for this league. Summer games start mid-May and finish late July. Players failing to make the tryout may forfeit their eligibility to play in the upcoming season. Players will be evaluated based on baseball skills, athleticism and attitude.
