Eugene Ollie Eubank, 80, of Greeley, passed away Feb. 6 at his residence. He was born Nov. 12, 1933, to Ollie and Elizabeth (Burbach) Eubank in Kersey.
Gene grew up in Ault and attended Ault High School and later graduated from San Diego High School in San Diego, Calif. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1957. On July 17, 1957, Gene married Verna Hettinger in Denver.
A machinist most of his professional life, Gene work for Martin Marietta for 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and watching NASCAR races. He was a quiet man who was devoted to his family. Gene attended Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor and was a past member of the Elks Lodge. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband and father.
Gene is survived by his wife, Verna Eubank of Greeley; three sons, Michael Eubank and wife Kathy of Englewood, Gary Eubank and wife Leslie, also of Englewood, and Jeffry Eubank and wife Julie of Littleton; grandchildren, Jason Eubank, Nicholas Eubank and wife Jeronder, Andrea Romero and husband Jason and their children, Joshua and Elijah, Kate King and husband Kevin, and Claire Eubank. He is also survived by a brother, Jerry Eubank and his wife Dorothy of Fort Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leo Buxtin.
A celebration of Gene’s life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7 at Faith United Church of Christ, 1020 Walnut St. in Windsor. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 14 in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver on Staging Area “A”.
