The Weld County Democratic Party will host its nominating assemblies Saturday at the Island Grove Events Center in Greeley.
According to Weld County Democratic chairwoman Patricia Bruner, registration for the county assembly delegates and alternates elected at precinct caucuses will be from 8-9 a.m. Bruner said the assembly begins at 9 a.m. and is expected to last until 1 p.m.
Bruner said in a news release that a major agenda item will be the nomination of Weld candidates for county and legislative office. Announced Weld Democratic candidates are state Rep. Dave Young for House District 50, Joe Perez for Senate District 13, Dustin Urban for House District 63 and Jeff Rodriguez and Joe Padilla for sheriff. Other Weld County offices up for election this year are clerk and recorder, assessor, District 2 county commissioner and county commissioner-at-large.
Bruner said candidates scheduled to address delegates include Betsy Markey, candidate for state treasurer.
Statewide and congressional candidates will be designated for the June 24 primary election ballot at assemblies in Denver on April 11-12.
Bruner said the public is welcome to observe activities at the Democratic county assembly.

The Weld County Republican Party will host its county assembly March 29 at Northridge High School.
