NO FIRE PITS IN TOWN

At 10:25 p.m. March 12, police were called to the 500 block of Sycamore Drive to assist Windsor Severance Fire Rescue on an open fire pit in the backyard of a residence. When police arrived, the homeowner was speaking to a firefighter, and he was advised that fire pits are prohibited in town. The homeowner was advised to put out the fire pit with a garden hose. The man was issued a summons for open fires violation.

SOMEONE INTENTIONALLY DRIVES INTO PORT-A-POTTY AT PARK: At 1:40 p.m. March 13, police were called to 7025 Eastman Park Drive after a vehicle drove into the door of a port-a-potty at Eastman Park. Police found tire tracks on both sides of the port-a-potty, and the report said that the direction of impact was such that someone had to have done it intentionally. No parts of the vehicle were left on scene. Value of the port-a-potty is unknown, but it appears that it is not repairable.

POLICE OFFICER HELPS MAN who was OUT OF GAS: At 1:06 a.m. March 16, police were on a routine patrol and stopped at the eastbound stop sign on Walnut at 7th streets when they heard a man yelling at the 7-Eleven gas station. Police saw a man slam the door to his vehicle. He told police that he was upset because he was taking his girlfriend and her friend home and realized he was out of gas. When he pulled into the 7-Eleven, he realized he didn’t have his wallet. When he asked his girlfriend for money, she said that she didn’t have her purse. When he asked the friend in the back seat, his girlfriend got mad at him. He explained to police that he needed to go to Fort Collins, so the police officer gave the man the $4 that she had in her pocket to help him get home. The man shook the police officer’s hand, put gas in his tank and drove home.
