Windsor High School’s Flamingo Flocking season is back in town

The Windsor High School theater department’s Flamingo Flocking season is back in full force beginning April 10 and continuing through May 15.

According to theater teacher and director Julie Estrada, the concept of Flamingo Flocking is to surprise someone with a front yard full of bright pink flamingos.

“For a donation, you can have a flock of flamingos migrate to just about any residential front lawn. When you order flocking, members of the Flamingo Flocking crew, the “Flockers” will deliver birds to unsuspecting yards to where they have been directed to roost,” Estrada said in a news release. “Imagine the priceless look on someone’s face when they discover the brilliant-colored flamingos taking sanctuary at their home. The Flamingo Flocking recipient will be left with an explanation, care instructions and the number to the Flamingo Rescue Hotline. The Flockers will remove the birds after 48 hours. Flamingo Flocking is a fresh, new idea that the community will enjoy participating in. It is also a fantastic way to support the Windsor High School Theater Department.”

Estrada said here are some great reasons to flock a friend:

» Brighten someone’s day

» Great gift for someone who has everything (retirement, graduation, birthday or for fun)

» An experience that will long be remembered

» You want someone’s attention (or they need some)… Fun to give and fun to receive.

» All proceeds benefit WHS Theatre Department. Cost is $20 a flock.

Flocking Fundamentals

If someone does not wish to be on the receiving end of a flocking, you can protect yourself by purchasing anti-flocking insurance. Cost of insurance is $30.
