Weld County SWAT team arrests homicide suspect in Garden City

Weld County SWAT team members arrested a homicide suspect in Garden City early Friday morning after the man did not immediately comply with law enforcement officers.

Weld County Sheriff’s deputies identified the suspect, Noel Garcia, with a female companion in the 600 block of 26th Street in Garden City.

They tracked him to an apartment located in the immediate area, but were not able to immediately take him into custody, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Due to Garcia’s violent history, and after numerous attempts to get Garcia to exit the apartment, the SWAT team was activated to take Garcia into custody.

They were able to take Garcia into custody without incident about 6:30 a.m., according to the release.

Garcia was wanted in connection with a Greeley homicide case. He was also wanted for failure to comply, escape (work release) and failure to appear, according to the release.
