GOOD FOR YOU: Four Windsor students participate in U.S. Marines family event at high school

Four Windsor High School students joined more than 80 U.S. Marine Corps recruits from high schools throughout Colorado to participate in the 2014 Regional U.S. Marines Recruiting Pool and Family Event on April 9 at the high school.

Windsor students participating in the event were Greg Medina, Josh Boykin, Walter Brennan and Austin Ferrell.

The recruits were from northern Colorado and the northern and western Denver areas. Families of the recruits were also at the event.

WHS’s Wizardry sang the national anthem and Marines from various recruiting substations took the stage to show the recruits their different uniforms.

Recruits and families watched a video on recruit training, and there was a question-and-answer session on the future and the life of the Marines.

The recruits and family then gathered in the cafeteria, and the event was staffed by the Windsor FFA students, who greeted the recruits and their families and worked the dinner.
