Greeley police arrest 9 in methamphetamine trafficking investigation

Police arrested nine people in connection with methamphetamine trafficking in Greeley and Weld County on Wednesday, concluding a seven month-long investigation.

The arrests included a 17-year-old girl and the seizure of a half pound of methamphetamine, several thousand dollars in cash, handguns and “additional drugs and paraphernalia,” according to Greeley Police Sgt. J.P. Tymkowych.

During a traffic stop and arrest operation in the 2300 block of First Avenue on Wednesday, Greeley officers took three occupants of a stopped vehicle into custody.

Police simultaneously served four search warrants at residences in the city relevant to the investigation that resulted in six additional arrests in the 1100 block of 26th Avenue, 2400 block of Balsam Avenue, 3700 block of 25th Street and 500 block of 22nd Street.

An organized group, which was disbanded by the arrests, carried out the methamphetamine trafficking in the Greeley area, according to police.

Donna Ybarra Marceleno, 42, of Evans, was arrested on suspicion of one count of distribution of a schedule two substance and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for involving her 17-year-old daughter in the group.

Marceleno was one of the main players in the organization and was on parole for drug related charges after release from prison.

The daughter was processed at a juvenile detention facility in Platte Valley and then released to a family member.

Maria Gutierrez, 40, of Greeley, was arrested on suspicion of six counts of conspiracy to distribute a schedule two substance.

Valerie Gutierrez, 22, of Greeley, was arrested on suspicion of one count of conspiracy to distribute a schedule two substance.

In related cases, Abel Regelado, 43, and Sylvia Martinez-Dimas, 41, were each arrested on suspicion of identity theft and criminal possession of a financial device. Martinez-Dimas was also arrested on suspicion of two counts of possession of a schedule two substance. Both live in Greeley.

Antonio Lerma, 48, Greeley, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful distribution of a schedule two substance by a special offender and was in possession of a handgun when arrested.

Additionally, two arrests were made during the operation concerning outstanding warrants.

The investigation remains active and Greeley police anticipate additional arrests to be made.
