Windsor Town Attorney Ian McCargar was awarded the Larimer County Bar Association Professionalism Award on April 23 at the association’s annual ethics seminar.
McCargar was recognized for adhering to the highest standards of legal professionalism and for his outstanding service to the community, according to the award.
McCargar said he was nominated for the award and received letters of support from lawyers, community members and others he had worked with in the past.
“I was just totally blown away,” McCargar said. “My reaction was one of gratitude. My remarks that afternoon recognized all the people over the years who’ve supported me and influenced me professionally, most of whom were in attendance.”
He said fees charged for attending the annual seminar go to a scholarship fund for the bar association to award 1,000 to 2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have an interest in a legal-related field.
“In addition to being a great opportunity to look at legal ethical conduct, it also is an amazing source of funding for high school kids,” McCargar said.
