Town donates vacant land north of Main Street to Downtown Development Authority

The Windsor Town Board unanimously voted to sell owned property near the 400 block of Main Street to the Downtown Development Authority for $10 to connect pedestrians with Boardwalk Park.

The board approved the transfer on first reading. The item is scheduled to come before the board for second reading on May 27.

The vacant property is located on the north side of the 400 block of Main Street and had not been set aside for any particular purpose, according to a town memo on the agenda item.

The board will transfer the property to the DDA essentially without charge, Town Attorney Ian McCargar said, but the $10 stipulated in the contract is a legal requirement.

The DDA asked the town to deed it the property, which it intends to use immediately as a pedestrian connection between Main Street and Boardwalk Park, Town Clerk Patti Garcia said.
