Northern Colorado Friends of Ferals, an organization that traps, “fixes” and then returns feral cats back to their home, is close to raising enough money to buy a transport van with the deadline just 10 days away. In this 2012 file photo, Robyn O’Kane, a veterinary student at Colorado State University, holds a cat in recovery from a low-cost spay and neuter clinic in the Greeley area.
The organization has raised just under $16,000 and needs $18,000 to buy the cat transport van. Friends of Ferals raised the money through grants, private funding and crowdfunding with LoveAnimals.org and has until May 30 to raise the additional $2,000.
Northern Colorado Friends of Ferals has fixed nearly 3,700 cats in Larimer and Weld counties in five years.
