Windsor-Severance Historical Society offers historical photos of Legion home on website

The Windsor-Severance Historical Society has obtained historical photos of American Legion Forbes-McKay Post 109 being moved to Windsor in the 1940s and would like to invite the public to view them online.

The building had previously been an officer’s quarters at POW Camp 202, which held prisoners from Germany and Austria during World War II, at a site west of Greeley. Now, the building sits at 624 Ash St. in Windsor.

“We want to let the community know we’re doing this because Forbes-McKay Post 109 does such a good job honoring our veterans every Memorial Day out at the cemetery,” Marge Straube, a member of the historical society, said.
