Law & Order for June 15

WHAT SOUNDED LIKE GUN SHOTS WERE BLOWN TRANSFORMERS

At 4:55 a.m. and 5:55 a.m. June 5, police were called to the 900 block of Pine Drive regarding a reporting party who heard shots fired. Police checked the area and found an Xcel Energy truck in the vicinity of the noise. The technician told police he blew two transformers that morning, each at the time police were called. The technician told police he may set off one or two more that morning. The police were previously notified that Xcel would be doing repairs in that area for most of the day.

KID MAKING VIDEOS OF HIMSELF CAUSES STIR: At 9:26 a.m. June 5, police were called to the 700 block of Main Street in the south alley on a report from a woman who said a white male teenager was using a camera and tripod and running back and forth in the alley behind her residence. Police checked the alley and couldn’t find the teen. Police asked a resident who was working on his car in the alley about the kid, and the resident said that the kid was making videos of himself running and dancing in the alley area. Police called the reporting party and told her what the teen was doing. She said it made sense, but that her generation just never did that kind of stuff.

MAN CITED FOR SHOOTING CROSSBOW IN TOWN: On June 8, an 18-year-old Greeley man was cited near 13th Street for an unlawful discharge of a crossbow and arrows within the town of Windsor. Police responded to a report that juveniles were shooting at rabbits with a bow and arrow. Police stopped the vehicle at 15th Street and Grand Avenue and saw there were two young occupants inside the vehicle. The man handed over a small crossbow he said he carries in his vehicle. He denied shooting at the rabbit, but he then admitted to shooting at the rabbit.
