The Town of Windsor and the Tree Board will host the annual Sick Tree Day from 5-8 p.m. June 24, as well as a sick tree seminar at Clearview Library on July 8.
Teams of foresters, CSU professors, CSU Extension agents, the Colorado State Forester Service, regional arborists, horticulturists and other tree experts will visit residents’ ailing trees, diagnose any problems and suggest possible corrective solutions. Due to a limited timeframe, there is a cap of 50 home visits, so call in early to reserve a visit.
If it gets dark outside before each team’s list of visits is complete, the Town Forester or CSU Extension volunteers will make the call on a later day.
Take advantage of this free service by calling the Community Recreation Center at (970) 674-3500 by no later than June 20.
The second event is a presentation at Clearview Library, 720 3rd St., at 6:30 p.m. July 8. Alison O’Connor, chair of the Windsor Tree Board and CSU Horticulture Extension agent in Larimer County, will cover the problems encountered on Sick Tree Day plus those seen recently in the northern Colorado region.
Although Sick Tree Day visits are limited to Windsor residents, the library presentation is open to all.
