GOP has some interesting races in Weld County beside 4th CD

The GOP 4th Congressional District race has a lot of sizzle to it, but there are other races in the 2014 primary election that have sparked plenty of interest.

Contested races in the Republican Party are:

» 4th CD (Weld County Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer, Weld District Attorney Ken Buck, state Sen. Scott Renfroe, R-Greeley, and Fort Collins businessman Steve Laffey)

» Weld County Commissioner At-Large (former Evans Mayor Lyle Achziger and current Weld County Clerk and Recorder Steve Moreno)

» Weld County Sheriff (Keith Olson and Steve Reams)

» Weld County Clerk and Recorder (Carly Koppes and Tony Trevino)

» House District 63 (Rep. Lori Saine and challenger Bruce Sparrow)

As for the Democrats in Weld County, their ballot looks empty. The ballot has no contested races and those voting will be doing so more as a show of support for their candidate.
