On Tuesday, the Town of Windsor will begin slurry sealing 4th Street between Chestnut Street to Elm Street, 5th Street between Oak Street to Locust Street, Chestnut Street between 1st and 4th streets and the streets within the Bison Ridge Subdivision and Alexander Estates.
Residents living on these streets will be impacted directly and those who travel on these streets will see periodic traffic control.
Residents within these areas will be notified 24-48 hours prior to any work that is adjacent to their property and/or work that will impact their parking. Streets will not be completely closed to traffic however; there will be some restrictions on movement to allow the slurry seal to set up. Parking will be not be permitted until after the “No Parking” signs are removed. No work will be done over the July 4th holiday weekend.
The work will be completed by A-1 Chipseal, who will be sealing the streets as part of the town’s pavement management program. A slurry seal is designed to extend the life of the roadway by protecting the roadway surface from further deterioration from UV light and sealing small cracks that allow water to penetrate the roadway and the roadway subgrade.
If possible, alternative routes are advised. The town thanks residents and advises them to please be cautious.
