AMERICAN FLAG STOLEN ON FOURTH OF JULY

At 8:23 a.m. July 4, police were called to the 1500 block of Walnut Street regarding a stolen American flag. The owner of the home where the flag was reportedly stolen told police he noticed his American flag and flag pole were missing from the flag mount located next to the east garage light of his home. The light bulb to the east garage light was also missing. Shortly thereafter, the owner located the light bulb in his front yard several feet to the east of the garage. The light bulb was not damaged. The owner did not know who took the flag, but he believed it was a juvenile. The man estimated that the flag cost $30.

FORT COLLINS MAN CITED FOR FIREWORKS: At 9:25 p.m. July 4, police were on patrol and observed a bottle rocket coming from the 500 block of Sycamore Drive. Police observed fireworks on the street in front of the home, and then contacted several people to tell them that fireworks were illegal in Windsor. A man from Fort Collins said they were only smoke bombs, but police told him that smoke bombs don’t go “bang” and that they were also illegal in Windsor. The Fort Collins man was ticketed $500 for the ordinance violation plus another $7 surcharge.

GREELEY MAN TICKETED $500 FOR ILLEGAL FIREWORKS: At 11:15 p.m. July 4, a Greeley man was ticketed $507 for using illegal fireworks, including the $7 surcharge, at the 700 block of 2nd Street. Police found several different sizes of used fountain fireworks and the man possessed several unused ones, as well. The man told police he purchased the fireworks in Greeley, making them legal in Windsor. The man continued to argue with police when told that fireworks were illegal in Windsor.

WINDSOR MAN NABBED FOR FIREWORKS: At 11:50 p.m. July 4, police observed fireworks being set off on the side of a home located at the 700 block of 3rd Street where several people were watching the fireworks. Police addressed a Windsor man and told him that fireworks were illegal in Windsor, and the man told police he was aware of that. The man was ticketed $500 for the fireworks violation and another $7 surcharge for a total of $507.
