Once again, the town had another record-breaking month for sales tax, collecting the highest gross amount for the single month of June.
Town Finance Director Dean Moyer told Windsor Town Board members at their meeting Monday that the town collected $558,229 in June, a 21.74 percent increase over June 2013.
Now six months into the year, Moyer said the town aims to have collected half of the budgeted total for the year for sales, construction and property taxes. He said the town hit that mark in sales and property tax, but not construction tax.
Construction use tax through June is at $776,619, or 44 percent of the annual budget. Sales tax is at $3.98 million, or 67 percent of the annual budget. Property tax is at $2.87 million, or about 69 percent of the annual budget.
Other highlights from Moyer’s report include:
» Building permits year-to-date are down 37 percent from this time last year.
» Single Family Residential building permits total 138 through June. This is down from the June 2013 number of 213.
» 51 business licenses were issued in June, 24 of which were sales tax vendors.
» Year-to-date total revenue through June exceeds expenditures by about $2.2 million.
