GOOD FOR YOU: Meadows Veterinary Center earns American Animal Hospital Association accreditation

Dr. Jody Engel and the staff of The Meadows Veterinary Center announce that after opening their doors in June of 2014, they have achieved the highest level of veterinary excellence following an evaluation by the American Animal Hospital Association.

The voluntary accreditation process involves being evaluated on 900 quality standards that go above and beyond basic state regulations, including patient care, pain management, surgery, dentistry, anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, medical records, cleanliness, staff training and continuing education. AAHA standards are continuously reviewed and updated to keep accredited practices on the cutting edge of veterinary excellence.

“We are proud to meet and even exceed these high standards, because our patients and our clients deserve the best care available,” said Engel, owner of The Meadows Veterinary Center. “Earning the accreditation gives our clients peace of mind, because they know their pets will receive superior care that is in accordance with AAHA’s standards of excellence.”

To maintain accredited status, hospitals undergo comprehensive on-site evaluations every three years. Only 15 percent of small animal hospitals in the U.S. and Canada have achieved accreditation.

Engel has been practicing veterinary medicine since she graduated from Colorado State University in 1998, and she is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Colorado Veterinary Medical Association, Weld County Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.

The Meadows Veterinary Center is located at 8030 S. County Road 5. For more information, call (970) 223-9800 or visit
