Windsor High School athletic museum display now open at recreation center

The athletic museum sponsored by the Windsor High School Booster Club and Windsor Museum is on display at the Windsor Community Recreation Center, 250 N. 11th St.

On display is a brief history of the athletic department, featured stories and memorabilia displays and a display from the 2012 Hall of Fame class.

The display will run through October/early November.

According to booster club spokeswoman Nancy Hardy, the athletic department and the recreation center encourage any school, athletic or alumni groups to use the facility for special meetings or gatherings during this time.

Hardy said all items have been temporarily donated for the display and the booster club would like to extend a thank you to all the families and individuals that helped pull the display together.

Hardy said a special note of thanks should go to Katie Bates, museum curator, for her many hours and effort in presenting such a wonderful look at the Windsor High School athletic history.

“What a great way to honor our past, our Hall of Fame class, and the future,” Hardy said.

Homecoming week is Oct. 1-5. If any WHS alumnus has an interest in holding a gathering centered around the display, contact Hardy at (970) 691-2020.
