The ninth annual Windsor Business Expo and Trade Show will once again have something for everyone.
The Windsor Chamber of Commerce will partner with the Windsor Parks, Recreation and Culture Department to host the event from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Windsor Community Recreation Center, 250 N. 11th St. The event is free to the public.
Chamber executive director Michal Connors said the expo gives the 100-plus vendors the opportunity to showcase their products and services to the Windsor community, while also letting the residents learn more about Windsor businesses.
“The biggest thing about the expo, especially if you’re new to town, is an opportunity to see several different businesses in one location, so you can see all the opportunities to shop local here in our community,” Connors said. “A lot of people don’t know all the businesses that we do have. This just gives them an opportunity to walk around and see all of them.”
The expo also provides plenty of family activities for the family including:
n Touch A Truck program from 2-5 p.m. where kids can meet firemen, policemen and city workers and see the trucks and equipment that are used every day.
n Poudre Valley REA interactive kids’ safety demonstration from 2-5 p.m.
n an appearance from Captain Fire Dog, the mascot of Windsor Severance Fire Rescue, from 3-5 p.m.
n an appearance from Slapshot, the mascot of the Colorado Eagles hockey team, from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
“There are a lot of family fun things to do,” Connors said. “Not only is it educational for the businesses, but it’s also fun for the kids to come and participate.”
The chamber will serve hot dogs, nachos and pop for free, and Windsor restaurant Stuft Burger Bar will give away free sliders during the event.
Each business usually gives away prizes that relate to their business, and those in attendance have the chance to win prize baskets valued at more than $500 by obtaining signatures from 25 booths during the Passport Around the Expo. The chamber will draw out names for the prizes.
