NOT ONE OF SANTA’S REINDEER
At 8:29 p.m. Nov. 21, police were called to the intersection of Colo. 392 and Weld County Road 13 regarding an injured deer that was causing a road hazard and blocking the highway. Police observed a male deer resting in the roadway west of mile maker 102. The deer was injured and unable to move, and the traffic was heavy. The driver of the vehicle involved was not on scene. The deer was eventually moved off the roadway by police.
ONLY A PAINT JOB: At 12:28 a.m. Nov. 22, police were called to the 500 block of Dakota Way about a suspicious person. The reporting party said a man was seen entering the back of the house. Police approached the house and heard what sounded like an air compressor or paint sprayer being used. Police contacted a man matching the description from the reporting party, and the man explained that he had just closed on the house and was preparing to move in on Saturday. He told police he was painting the garage and upstairs bedroom with his wife in preparation for the move.
TWISTED SCROOGE IN WINDSOR: At 9:10 a.m. Nov. 25, Police were called to the 700 block of Apple Court on a report of the vandalism of some Christmas decorations. Police observed that the reindeer lawn ornaments were mounting each other, and the large Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman plastic figures were also mounting each other. The homeowner said his yard ornaments were tampered with twice the night before between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. in his front yard, and that the plastic Santa had been cut.
