BOULDER — After firing football coach Jon Embree on Sunday night, Colorado athletic director Mike Bohn and chancellor Philip DiStefano talked Monday about getting the entire fan base and program to come together in what Bohn called “an extremely difficult time.”
Embree, who was 4-21 in two seasons as CU’s head coach, spoke first at the late morning news conference at Dal Ward Center and was clearly upset and disappointed he wasn’t given more time.
“I thought I would be here, be able to build it and have an opportunity to see it through,” Embree said. When asked what he thought changed things and led to his firing, Embree said: “You’ll have to ask them.”
