The Weld County Council has appointed Bernard Kinnick of Greeley to fill a vacant seat on the council after member Virginia Buzcek resigned in November.

Kinnick will represent District 2, the southwest corner of the county. He took his oath at the beginning of this month alongside council members Donald Mueller for the at-large seat, Brett Abernathy for District 1 and Marge Klein for District 3.

The Weld County Council will next meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday in the Weld County administration building, 1150 O St., in Greeley. The council will elect its 2013 officers.
