The Broe Group announced that Windsor’s Great Western Industrial Park will gain a new tenant in 2013.
Helmerich & Payne Inc., a company out of Tulsa that is primarily engaged in contract drilling of oil and gas wells for exploration and production companies, is leasing six acres at the industrial park that already houses Vestas, Front Range Energy, Halliburton, O-I, Colorado Army National Guard Windsor Readiness Center and Hexcel.
“It was a pretty basic deal. They’re one of the top onshore rig companies,” Broe Group Vice President Rich Montgomery said in a telephone interview. “I think they have 10 to 12 rigs in the northern Colorado area. They’re a very reputable company.”
Montgomery said H&P will use the six acres for storage and as a staging yard that will include a small administration building. Equipment, oil rigs and other material will be stored there, he said.
“We’re always looking to grow new business at the industrial park,” Montgomery said. “I know they want to move very quickly.”
H&P’s website said the contract drilling business accounts for almost all of H&P’s operating revenues, making it one of the major land and offshore platform drilling contractors in the world.
