Tribute: Bessie Dewey

Bessie Dewey

Bessie Mae Dewey, 91, of Windsor, passed away Jan. 28, 2013, at Life Care Center of Greeley.

She was born Aug. 7, 1921, in White County, Ga., to William and Mary Ella (Shuler) White. The family moved to Colorado when Bessie was 9. She married Alfred Dewey on Aug. 30, 1940, at the Baptist Church Parsonage in Eaton, Colo.

Bessie was a homemaker and loved sewing, cooking, fishing and her church. She and Alfred were custodians of the Galeton Church for many years. She was a member of Grace Community Bible Church in Evans, Colo., and Extension Chatter Club.

She is survived by her children, Allan (Laura) Dewey of Fort Morgan, Colo., Diana Elaine (Paul) Still of Johnstown, Colo., Calvin (Karen) Dewey of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Tricia Lane, Shawn Dewey, Steven Kisselman, Brenda Stone, Nathan Still, Mark Still, Andrew Dewey and Angelina Dewey; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Guy White; and sister, Eileen Green both of Washington State.

Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; parents; three sisters; and five brothers.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO. Interment will follow at Susnet Memorial Gardens.
