The Windsor High School Booster Club and athletic department announced the selections for the WHS Hall of Fame Class of 2013, which includes two former coaches, a gymnast and members of the Windsor media.
Last year was the first year for the Hall of Fame at WHS.
According to Hall of Fame and booster club spokeswoman Nancy Hardy, the 2013 inductees for the second class are:
» Al Lear: retired football coach and athletic director who helped coach the 1993 football team to a Class 3A State championship over Cheyenne Mountain.
» Arlen Koehler: served as the football coach from 1971-1974, winning two Welco League Championships. Also, served as the Windsor Middle School principal.
» Vaunda Hinkle (Seek): 1984 graduate, four-year letter winner in gymnastics. Member of the All-Welco, all-around team and state qualifier in all four events as a freshmen and senior.
» “Media Legacy Award”: recognizing a group of individuals instrumental in connecting the community with Windsor High School athletics. These individuals set the standard for media coverage and connections, building an influential partnership with Windsor High School and the community, said Hardy. Members of the media being inducted are Kurt Hinkle, Tom Fasano, David Persons, Jason Shedd and Todd Vess.
The induction dinner and ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. May 13 at the Water Valley clubhouse in Windsor. Tickets are $15 per person.
