GOOD FOR YOU: Windsor veterinarian makes national ‘25 Vets to Watch list’

Windsor veterinarian Dr. Robin Downing, who owns Windsor Veterinary Clinic at 415 Main St., was recently named one of the top 25 veterinarians in the country published in the Veterinary Practice News magazine.

According to a release from NEWStat, Veterinary Practice News said the ‘25 Vets to Watch list’ was meant to recognize up-and-coming veterinarians who are poised to do great things for veterinary medicine.

Downing was interviewed by NEWStat and she said it was humbling to be included with “this impressive group of movers and shakers.”

“These folks are really making a difference in both the veterinary world and the world at large,” Downing told NEWStat. “It is very cool to know several of them personally, and I am so happy to see them receive this recognition. They are awesome, and it’s my privilege to be a part of this group.”

Downing is the first veterinarian to enter the clinical bioethics degree program at Union Graduate College in Schenectady, N.Y.

She earned her DVM in 1986 from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She bought Windsor Veterinary Clinic in 1991, and also runs The Downing Center for Animal Pain Management, a referral practice focusing on pain relief and management through acupuncture, an underwater treadmill, laser therapy and other areas.

The ‘25 Vets to Watch list’ was part of the Veterinary Practice News’ 25th anniversary issue.
