Deadline Monday for ordering fruit to help Windsor High School After Prom fundraiser

The Windsor High School After Prom committee is holding its biggest fundraiser of the year with the annual fruit sale, and the deadline to order is Monday.

“We need to raise lots of money from this fundraiser for After Prom,” said Linda Tomberlin of the After Prom committee.

The After Prom committee is taking orders for fresh, hand-picked Colorado fruit for its annual fundraiser. Tomberlin said profits from the sales of these fresh peaches, apples and pears go to fund the 2014 WHS After Prom party.

“This is a fun, alcohol-free alternative party for Windsor High School junior and senior students,” Tomberlin said.

Fruits available are:

Palisade Peaches are $35 for 25-pound box ($1.40 pound); $18 for 1/2 box peaches ($1.45 pound)

Ginger Gold Apples are $25 for 22-pound box ($1.14 pound); $13 for 1/2 box ($1.18 per pound)

Bartlett Pears are $25 for 28-pound box (89 cents pound); $13 for 1/2 box (93 cents per pound)

“All fruit is hand-picked, tree-ripened, quality fruit from Fritchman Orchards, located on the Western Slope of Colorado,” Tomberlin said.

For more information or to place an order, email whspeaches@yahoo.com or call (970) 371-7159.

Tomberlin said after placing an order, customers will be contacted prior to delivery. Payment is due at the time of pickup — cash and checks only.

Fruit orders can be picked up from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday and Aug. 25 at the Windsor-Severance Re-4 School District administration parking lot, 1020 Main St. in Windsor.
