The Windsor Food Pantry, 1020 Walnut St., is in need of food and supplies.
According to food pantry director Brenda Heckman, the list of what is needed includes canned tuna, canned or instant potatoes, spaghetti sauce, cereal, saltine crackers, cooking oil, 5-pound bags of flour and sugar, canned or powdered milk, canned tomatoes and tomato sauce, soup, juice, canned beans, corn meal or corn muffin mix, cake mixes or brownie mixes, dry beans, peanut butter, jelly, jello and pudding, shampoo, toilet paper, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste.
The shelves are almost bare.
“We are low or out of a lot of stuff, and we have been buying stuff to keep food on the shelves,” Heckman said.
Heckman is at the Windsor Food Pantry from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and Thursdays at Faith United Church of Christ.
According to its website, the mission of the Windsor Food Pantry is: ”We provide food and financial assistance to families and individuals in the Windsor-Severance Re-4 School District that are in need.”
