The Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County and the United Way of Weld County have teamed together to help in long-term recovery efforts. Donations can be made to the Weld County Flood Relief Fund through either organization.
“In the wake of disastrous events, Weld County has proven to be a giving community,” said Judy Knapp, president & CEO of the Community Foundation in a news release. “We know the recovery will not be quick or easy, but we are committed to getting back on track as a community.”
“It is great for these two organizations to collaborate to help the community in a time of need,” said Jeannine Truswell, president & CEO of United Way of Weld County in a news release. “Both organizations work daily to make our community a better place for all, so when a disaster occurs, it is only natural for us to work together.”
Once the recovery efforts begin and funding needs are prioritized by the community, both organizations will collaborate to disperse funds appropriately. The main goal of the fund is to focus on long-term recovery, because recovery begins immediately after the rivers are back to their normal levels.
To make a contribution to the Weld County Flood Relief Fund, call either organization during business hours or go online to make a donation at any time. If anyone needs assistance in finding recovery help, call 2-1-1 or go to UnitedWay-Weld.org/2-1-1.
