The Windsor Police Department will once again participate in National Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 26, giving area residents an opportunity to safely dispose of prescription medications that have accumulated in medicine cabinets and drawers throughout the year.
Working in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration, residents will be able to drop off any unneeded or expired medicines from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Windsor Police Department, 200 N. 11th St. in Windsor. The goal is to get the substances out of the home and prevent abuse, overdoses or accidental poisonings.
Items police cannot accept include needles, mercury, oxygen containers, chemotherapy or radioactive substances, pressurized cannisters or illicit drugs.
