With fall cleanup now dominating weekend free time, the Town of Windsor is reminding residents that winter hours will soon go into effect for the town’s brush recycling site.
The facility, 801 Diamond Valley Drive, will enact its winter hours beginning Nov. 6. It will be open from noon-4 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday.
Annual permits are available for free to Windsor residents, but fees of $2/load for residents $6/cubic yard for nonresidents and commercial groups and will apply at the gate, according to a town news release. To get a permit, residents must bring a driver’s license and proof of residency like a utility bill or lease agreement to Windsor Town Hall, the community recreation center or the brush recycling site.
Acceptable items include grass, leaves, garden trimmings and small branches. Sod, lumber and trash is not accepted.
