What services do you offer? We offer a premier full-service electric and plumbing service for your home and business.
How long has your business been in Windsor? We have been in business more than eight years. We could have located our business anywhere, but we chose to live in Windsor with our children so they could attend Windsor schools and we wanted our business to be located close to home.
Who is the owner and for how long? The owners are Tye and Jan Chadwick since the beginning of the business eight years ago. Tye grew up in Fort Collins and Jan in Driggs, Idaho. We met at school and when we got married we decided to move back to work for the family business. When the kids came along we wanted to settle in an area with great schools.
Why did you want to start this venture? Tye worked in the electrical trade for 16 years with another company in Fort Collins. After 16 years he felt he could offer his expertise to his own customers while providing for his growing family. In the last two years, Lighten Up has ventured into the plumbing trade to be able to offer more opportunities for our customers.
How have things been during the years? We have had our share of ups and downs. We handled the uncertain economy by revamping our business by stopping the new construction jobs. We replaced that with doing service calls only, and this has allowed us to focus on servicing our customers better to be available for them any time.

What’s your most interesting client story? We like to treat our customers like family. Every once in a while we run into crazy Uncle Bill, but we still treat them the way we would like to be treated or would treat a member of the family.
What’s the most challenging part of operating in the community? Getting the word out to all the residents of Windsor and the surrounding area that we are able to do all residential and commercial electric and plumbing service work, nothing is too small of a job. We want to be the GO-TO GUYS in Windsor.
